Our Policy on Quality

We have developed a quality system that integrates sustainable development concepts, which assures quality delivery of our services to a global geography of consumers, without compromising the resources and well-being of future generations.

To maximize our contribution towards ensuring the quality of products delivered, we are strongly committed to enhancing employees’ performance by continuously training and retraining workers at all levels in the company; tsing customer feedback and complaints to improve the quality of products and improve customer satisfaction; maintaining a formal quality management system in compliance with industry guidelines; certifying that our processes adhere to the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements of our respective host countries; and ensuring that all internal stakeholders understand the stated Quality Policy and are individually responsible to meet the set objectives.

Health, Safety & Environment Policy

Our approach to safety, health, and the environment is not a means to an end. At Tama, we prioritize people over production. Our foremost commitment is to protect the environment and the health and safety of all who live in it. We have put in place an effective Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Management System to monitor our performance and carry out operations with high considerations to the environment, health, and safety of workers, clients, and the communities we operate in.

We put in place emergency preparedness and response measures, and we ensure safety protocols are in conformity with industry guidelines.

We ensure on and off-site operations are conducted and managed to the highest attainable safety and health standards with respect for the environment.

We make significant investments in programs to improve workers’ safety performance, discover innovative ways of reducing our impact on the environment; and ensure routine inspections are put in place to assess risk and minimize hazards.

We periodically review our HSE Management System, make improvements where necessary, and set new targets.

Principles of Business Policy

The way we conduct business is as important as the business we do. We are committed to reflecting the framework of values and principles we share, which define, inform and guide our daily operations, within our company and in the communities we conduct business. Integrity is at the core of all our operations. We shun illegal and unethical practices and comply with every applicable legal and ethical requirement prohibited by our business code and in the countries we conduct business.

We promote equal and fair representation in the workplace regardless of age, race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, disabilities, differences in education, personalities, skill sets, experiences, and knowledge bases. We regard the safety and health of human life and the environment. We are committed to ensuring a safe workplace for our employees, clients, business partners, and the communities we operate; and have put in place facilities to access risk.

We have an obligation to respect the privacy of the clients we transact with and not disclose confidential information to a third party. We are against every actual or potential interest that competes with and/or influences the objective performance of the employee’s duties and responsibilities.

Corporate Social Responsibility

At Tama Refined Oil Trading LLC, we are a socially responsible corporate citizen. With the growing concerns on climate change, it has become imperative for the attention of everyone to be concentrated on sustainable development solutions. More importantly, this is the decade of action for sustainable development goals. In the words of former UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon; “Energy is the golden thread that connects economic growth, increased social equity, and an environment that allows the world to thrive.”

Beyond our primary obligations to our shareholders, it is our duty to address the social and environmental impact of our activities. We play a central role in enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of a community by adopting sustainable business practices and integrating sustainable development concepts.

We leverage high engineering technology to address the negative environmental impact by taking social responsibility for the rational use of natural resources and meeting the world’s demands of a low-carbon economy. The core of Tama is highlighted in our self-imposed policies on diversity and inclusion, respect for culture and heritage, commitment to fair labour practices, and development of local skills and expertise within our operational areas.
