Health, Safety & Environment Policy

Our approach to safety, health, and the environment is not a means to an end. At Tama, we prioritize people over production. Our foremost commitment is to protect the environment and the health and safety of all who live in it. We have put in place an effective Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Management System to monitor our performance and carry out operations with high considerations to the environment, health, and safety of workers, clients, and the communities we operate in.

We put in place emergency preparedness and response measures, and we ensure safety protocols are in conformity with industry guidelines.

We ensure on and off-site operations are conducted and managed to the highest attainable safety and health standards with respect for the environment.

We make significant investments in programs to improve workers’ safety performance, discover innovative ways of reducing our impact on the environment; and ensure routine inspections are put in place to assess risk and minimize hazards.

We periodically review our HSE Management System, make improvements where necessary, and set new targets.

At Tama Refined Oil Trading LLC, we are a socially responsible corporate citizen. With the growing concerns on climate change, it has become imperative for the attention of everyone to be concentrated on sustainable development solutions. More importantly, this is the decade of action for sustainable development goals. In the words of former UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon; “Energy is the golden thread that connects economic growth, increased social equity, and an environment that allows the world to thrive.”

Beyond our primary obligations to our shareholders, it is our duty to address the social and environmental impact of our activities. We play a central role in enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of a community by adopting sustainable business practices and integrating sustainable development concepts.
